I took these images at the beach on Thursday. Some of it is really ugly. The chair has become a bit of a photographic study, but I’m a biggy for beach textures. I shot the night before and didn’t check the ISO which was set too 1000, and thought it strange the camera was metering at a fairly fast shutter speed in the gloom and rain.: I was really time pressed, but still the study turned out interesting for me. I always try and stick to the native ISO, but Ive got to say, I dont mind a bit of grain and I used to push process in film to create more grain. In some circumstances its nice. I was really surprised that before editing, the images picked up in strong sepia tones, but still, I opted mainly for the B&W. I suppose the different  colour rendition is partly from the jacked up ISO as well as  lighting conditions, it just renders differently. The 70-200 lens did a nicer job than my wide angle, and the chair has stayed in the same place despite the tides.

As some of you may know Sydney had a huge storm on Saturday night. There was so much lightning it was surreal, like one of those fake movies. In the morning there was debris everywhere. Theses pine balls probably weigh over a kilo each, because they are green. They fell from really tall trees, so I’m glad I was in bed.
